Quaker Casket stitched by Margaret

This is a casket created and designed by Larry but stitched by Margaret (one of our very satisfied customers!). The blue gives it a whole different feel from mine. It's beautiful.

Thread/floss winders

These thread/floss winders are hand carved. The 'design' is always different due to wood variations. They make nice little gifts for your needleworking friends.

Miscellaneous carving work

I carved this boot for a friend of ours - from Texas of course!
This is called a styalized bear because there are no individual features.
This is a leaf candy dish I worked up.

Hand carved ornaments

Sometimes it's fun to go into my workshop and just play around. That's when I create little ornaments for people.

You have to have some trees to hang on the tree. OR you might want some to sit around in a little village scene I made a 'normal' snowman but of course living in Texas, I also had to have a Texas snowman!

More Spoons I've made

Here are some pictures of more spoons that I've hand carved. All of my spoons are available for sale. If interested, email me for more information.

They say everyting is bigger in Texas, so this is a large spoon!
The spoon on the right is commonly known as a love spoon because of the intertwining of the wood. This would be for decorative use.
All my spoons are able to be used with and for food.
The 2 small spoons in the center of this picture are going to be for ornaments on a Christmas tree. Or wherever you'd like to hang them.

Trinket boxes with area for stitched piece

My wife saw a small trinket box she liked but it didn't have a place to mount a stitched piece so she asked me what I could create for her. This is the result of that question. This original box measures 5x5 square with an inside frame size of 3-1/2" but can be made to accomodate whatever size you need it to be. Prices vary by size. Email us for details of pricing. We have also added a dark brown, navy blue and cream to the finishes available.

This is done in the Americana Red.
This is the Americana Green with a stitched piece in the top.
This shows the inside of the cover. The inside is painted to match the box.

These boxes can be made to fit any size stitching project you would like to mount in them. All you need to do is tell me the size of your piece, the amount of border you'd like and I will create the box to fit that need. Because prices vary according to size needed, please contact me through my email or the comments section.

Quaker Casket

This is called a Quaker Casket. It's a place to show off your stitching and have a storage place for sewing items as well.
This is made of dark cherry wood with 5 frames for mounting your stitched pieces. These boxes are quite large and do make a lovely statement for instance on a coffee table. It is sure to get many compliments. Due to the variation of wood prices, if you are interested in a casket created for you, it is best to email me or let me know to contact you in the comments section.

My spoons

I hand carve a lot of spoons - my wife says I give them all as gifts and she doesn't get any!

WELCOME

We have been asked to create a blog so bear with us since we've never done this before.

I have had a love of working with wood for most of my life. I'd like to use this area to show you some of the things I enjoy doing.

I turn wood on a lathe, I hand carve and I try to create what my wife asks of me for her love, which is counted cross stitch.

We will be adding content as we go along. Please feel free to contact us with comments and/or questions.
